Further training
Vocational further training as a main factor for employment and innovation
Across Europe, 76 million employees aged 25-64 have no or only limited training.
From the European point of view, professional further training for employees is a strategically effective starting point, when it comes to making companies more innovative, protecting/creating jobs and making them more competitive at global level.
Company-based further training must aim to support long-term structural changes in companies with a better-trained workforce. Employees’ professional skills must adapt to changing work tasks, new specialist requirements and technological developments. Simple tasks are becoming less important in the context of complex, technically modernised processes.
Competitive and innovative work in companies calls for skilled employees. The managing of these challenges is a continuous task of social partners in sectors and companies.
